Following my mantra of creating something beautiful out of raw, unpolished material, my hand tools are often pieces that belonged to old artisans, that were found in some unused shop, or that were discovered in the garage of a relative’s house. I find a tremendous amount of inspiration in handling those tools, fantasizing about the hours of use (and sometimes abuse) that they experienced. With reverence and respect I then restore them to their original shine, creating a memento that makes using hand tools that more special. This is a small collection of restored tools that I find myself reaching for most often.
